To the South East of Rayong is one of Thailand’s lesser known islands called Koh Samet. There are beaches with bars and hotels like Sai Kaew, and there are quiet beaches like Ao Noi Na. All have qhite sands and warm blue seas. Lovely.

The Sanctuary of Truth
This hidden gen is tucked away by the beach of northern Pattaya, Thailand. The Building is a massive structure built entirely of wood, (I think it is the largest wooden structure in the world at the moment). Made up of four wings, the carvings reflect the branches of Buddhism tradition found in Thailand, India, Nepal and China. A truly amazing place. (And they are still building it).
Razz
Hailing from Saxony, Germany, Razz are a four piece band that opened for Glass Caves on their recent ‘I Do’ tour.
I usually go into a concert having listened to stuff from the openeing acts, but I didn’t this time and was completely blown away. Superb doesn’t begin to describe how good these guys were. So much energy and soul to their performance. Tracks like Paralysed draw instant comparisons to Franz Ferdinand. Mostly they channel the spirit of post punk bands from the Late Seventies/Early Eighties like Simple Minds and Bauhaus.
Stand out tracks from the night were Paralysed, Let it In Let it Out, Another Heart Another Mind, Youth & Enjoyment and Black Feathers.
Not sure if and when they will tour the UK again – I certainly hope they do – but definitely a band I want to see again.
Brudenell Social Club, Leeds. October 2017.
And if you like that, they have a couple of albums available – well worth a listen to.
