I love the colour of the smoke in this. The shutter speed was a bit too fast at 1/125, but the Catherine Wheel was a bit of a dud and didn’t last long, so there wasn’t time to adjust settings. Not the effect I was after, but it reminds me of some of the Hubble telescope images, so I’m happy.
First couple of images from Our little November 5th display. I had to try and remember what settings I used last year as the LCD display on my camera decided to give up the ghost on me. I never realised how much I’d come to rely on that little screen to check my shots. Oh well!
Ironically, this week’s assignment was to convert part of an image to black and white, keeping the rest in colour. Despite having done this the week before, I did it again.
First I revisited one of last week’s shots. I liked the colour cast of the previous shot, but didn’t like the brightness of the yellow on the bench. For this one, I changed the hue to make the leaves a little browner.
The next one has a leafy theme as well. Must be something in the air!!
